Elevation marker
Points to an elevation, a view of the building's face drawn on the elevations sheet. The circle gives the elevation's number and its sheet.
This explains what a symbol represents on a drawing. Conventions vary between firms and standards, and a drawing's own legend takes precedence.
How to read it
In the A/E/C Graphics Standard the elevation indicator marks an area of the drawing that is shown as an elevation on the elevations sheet. The top of the circle holds the elevation's identification and the bottom the sheet number, which has a 2 in the sheet-type position. The Department of Veterans Affairs numbers its sheets the same way, with architectural elevations on 200-series sheets and sections on 300-series sheets.
