Major general (O-8)
Major general (MajGen) is the second Marine Corps general officer rank, pay grade O-8. Its insignia is two silver stars in a row.
How to read it
Major general follows brigadier general (O-7) and comes before lieutenant general (O-9). The uniform regulations describe two silver-colored stars, set in a straight line on a holding bar on the collar.
