Charging symbol
Charging. A lightning bolt on a battery icon shows the battery is charging.
How to read it
On an iPad or iPhone a lightning bolt on the battery icon in the status bar shows the battery is charging, and Apple says the icon turns grey on an iPhone when charging is paused. Google’s Android help says a battery icon on the screen of a phone that is switched off means it is powered off and charging. Windows has a set of BatteryCharging icons, numbered 0 to 9, in Microsoft’s Segoe Fluent icon set.
Look-alikes
On an iPhone a yellow battery icon means Low Power Mode is on, not charging.
