Wi-Fi symbol
Wi-Fi. A dot with arcs spreading above it shows a device is connected to a Wi-Fi network; the more arcs are filled, the stronger the signal.
How to read it
On an iPhone the Wi-Fi status icon means the phone is connected to the internet over a Wi-Fi network. Google’s Pixel help describes the same fan-shaped icon as a signal meter: a fuller icon means a stronger signal, and a Wi-Fi icon with an exclamation point marks a connection problem. Windows has its own Wifi icon in Microsoft’s Segoe Fluent icon set.

Look-alikes
The mobile network signal is a different icon. On an iPhone it is a row of bars, and the number of bars shows the strength of the cellular signal. On a Pixel phone it is a triangle that fills in as the signal gets stronger.
