Brick
Marks brick masonry in a section or plan, drawn as evenly spaced diagonal lines.
This explains what a symbol represents on a drawing. Conventions vary between firms and standards, and a drawing's own legend takes precedence.
How to read it
Brick is one of the material conventions in the Army's print-reading manual and the Navy's Builder Basic course. The Army manual also uses closely spaced parallel lines as general section lining when an object is all one material, and different patterns where materials differ.

Look-alikes
Because diagonal lines are also general section lining, the drawing's legend or notes say whether they mean brick.
