Pear cut
A teardrop-shaped diamond: rounded at one end, pointed at the other.
How to read it
GIA describes the pear brilliant as combining the brilliance of a round diamond with the shape of a marquise: a teardrop, rounded at one end and pointed at the other. It can show the bow-tie effect, a shadow across the center of the stone. The International Gem Society notes it is also called a teardrop.
