Seam weld
A circle crossed by two lines on the reference line: a seam weld, a continuous weld made of overlapping spots.
This explains what a symbol specifies on a drawing. It isn't welding instruction, and a drawing's own notes and the governing code take precedence.
How to read it
Seam welding is like spot welding except that the spots overlap, making a continuous weld. It welds a lengthwise seam in sheet metal, with abutting or overlapping joints.
Like the spot weld symbol, the resistance seam weld symbol has no arrow side or other side significance in itself and is centered on the reference line.
