Door ajar indicator
A warning that a door, or on some vehicles the hood or rear hatch, is open.
Dashboard symbols vary by manufacturer. The vehicle's owner's manual or a qualified mechanic can say what a light means for a particular vehicle.
How to read it
The symbol is a car seen from above with a door open. Ford's F-150 manual says the door ajar lamp stays on if any door or the hood is open, and Nissan's LEAF manual that its door open warning appears if any door or the rear hatch is open or not closed securely, with the vehicle icon showing which one. Toyota gives an open door as an example of a red icon, a condition that requires immediate attention.
