How to read it
The Chicago Rabbinical Council is a not-for-profit organization, established in 1932. Its kosher arm, cRc Kosher, certifies products, and its Beth Din, a Jewish court, handles divorce, conversion and arbitration. The cRc describes itself as the largest organization of its kind in North America, and as non-profit and community-based.

In US labeling rules
For meat and poultry, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service allows the word “kosher” only on products prepared under rabbinical supervision.
