No parking sign

It belongs to the MUTCD's R7 and R8 series of parking, standing and stopping signs. Plaques below it can narrow the rule, with legends such as EXCEPT SUNDAYS & HOLIDAYS, ON BRIDGE, ON TRACKS, LOADING ZONE or a span of hours.

Parking, standing and stopping
The series uses three different words. On these signs, standing, as the MUTCD defines it, means keeping a vehicle stationary while still in it, so a no standing sign rules out more than a no parking sign does.
