Hyundai's names for the lights

The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is the check engine light, the charging system warning light is the battery light and the engine oil pressure warning light is the oil pressure light. The airbag warning light, the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) warning light, the low tire pressure warning light and the low fuel level warning light keep names close to the everyday ones: see the airbag, ABS, tire pressure and low fuel pages. The engine oil pressure warning light comes on when the engine oil pressure is low, and the manuals' first step is to drive carefully to the nearest safe location and stop; the low fuel level warning light comes on when the fuel tank is nearly empty, and they say to refuel as soon as possible. The manuals also note that when the ABS warning light and the parking brake warning light come on together, it may indicate a problem with the Electronic Brake Force Distribution system.

Hyundai's stability control is Electronic Stability Control, ESC. The ESC indicator light blinks while ESC is operating: it is the stability control light on other makes.

The ESC OFF indicator light comes on when ESC is turned off, fully or in part, with a message such as "Traction Control disabled".
