Hyundai Lane Safety indicator light
Hyundai’s Lane Safety indicator light for Lane Keeping Assist (LKA): green when LKA’s operating conditions are met, white when they aren’t, yellow for a malfunction.
How to read it
Hyundai’s 2024 Tucson manual says Lane Keeping Assist detects lane markings or road edges above a certain speed, may warn the driver if the car leaves its lane without the turn signal, and may help steer to keep it in its lane. The Lane Safety indicator light is green when LKA’s operating conditions are met, white when they are not, and yellow whenever a malfunction with LKA is detected. LKA is switched on and off by pressing and holding the Lane Driving Assist button on the steering wheel.

Hyundai lights vary by model and year. The owner’s manual for the vehicle says what each light means on it, and a Hyundai dealer or a qualified mechanic can say what it means for a particular car.
A blinking light
When the car detects that it is leaving the lane ahead, the green indicator blinks and the steering wheel makes adjustments to keep the car in its lane. The manual says LKA works at about 40 to 120 mph (60 to 200 km/h).
What NHTSA calls it
NHTSA calls this kind of system lane keeping assistance: it automatically and gently steers to prevent the vehicle from departing the lane. NHTSA notes that makers use different names for the same driver assistance technologies.
Look-alikes
The same button, pressed briefly, turns on Lane Following Assist, which has its own Lane Following Assist indicator light. Toyota calls its lane light the LTA indicator, Honda the LKAS indicator and Ford the lane keeping system indicator.
