How to read it
Hyundai's 2024 Tucson manual says the ESC OFF indicator light comes on for about three seconds when the ignition is switched on, and when ESC is deactivated with the ESC OFF button. The 2024 Elantra manual describes two stages: with traction control switched off, the light comes on with the message "Traction Control disabled"; with both traction and stability control off, it comes on with "Traction & Stability Control disabled" and a warning chime.

Hyundai lights vary by model and year. The owner’s manual for the vehicle says what each light means on it, and a Hyundai dealer or a qualified mechanic can say what it means for a particular car.
Hyundai's ESC indicator light
Without the word OFF, the light is Hyundai's ESC indicator: the Elantra manual says it blinks while ESC is operating. It has its own page as the stability control light.
